Grant Application Process

CEG’s Board of Directors has established a Grant Committee. The Committee meets every 3 months to identify and select Christian organizations whose mission and purpose align with those of CEG. These organizations will be sent an email inviting them to submit a letter of interest online to be reviewed by the Committee. The email will contain a password giving access to additional areas of the site. A deadline, usually 30 days from the invitation, for submitting the letter of interest will be included with the invitation. CEG does not accept unsolicited applications for grants. If an organization’s letter of interest aligns with CEG’s mission and purpose and falls into one of the grant categories, they may be invited to submit an application for further consideration. Grant applications are limited to a minimum of $5,000 and a maximum of $25,000 for projects that can be completed within one year of receiving their granted funds.

All applications will be provided a deadline for submission by the committee. The deadline will usually be 60 days after the invitation. Applications should fall in only one of the grant categories listed above. A budget must be submitted with all applications. The budget should include all proposed purchase(s) or expense(s) along with the total amount being requested. Time and materials quotes may be listed as a single item. The budget should show the total cost of the project even if the grant application is to only cover a portion of the total project. The budget and any supporting documents should be submitted with the application.

The Committee will review all applications and submit a list of recommended applications to the Board of Directors for their review and approval. All grant decisions are final. Applicants will be notified via e-mail of the Board of Directors’ decision regarding their application within 30 days of the deadline on the application. After notification, organizations receiving a grant will be required to sign an agreement stipulating the use(s) for the granted funds.

Applicants should not request status updates once the application is submitted or contact any members of the Committee regarding their application. The Committee will not provide comments on applications that do not receive funding.

Applicants that receive grants will be required to submit a post-grant follow-up report detailing the use of the funds within one year of receiving the grant funds. Organizations may be excluded from future funding if the post-grant follow-up report is not submitted by the deadline or if the Board of Directors finds that the organization did not utilize the awarded funds for the purpose given in the agreement.meets
